Hi, I'm new at getting fish. I already have 5 Variatus Platys and 2 Bronze Corydoras and in a few weeks I'll be getting some more.

I was looking at different types of Cichlids the other day and I found that many were very beautiful fish yet quite aggressive. I found a few unaggressive ones but I want to find the most peaceful, as I don't want any of my current fish getting hurt. Here are some possibilities I found:

Sheepshead Acara
Keyhole Cichlid
Flag Cichlid

Any ideas?

I think flags and sheepsheads are both lateacara curviceps[ ? dorsiger ] , at any rate are good choices as are keyholes .

How large is your tank ?

keep in mind just about all cichlids will become aggressive when breeding , and raising fry .
[ my keyholes are all males , so I really can't say much about breeding behavior , but my curviceps killed off a few peacock gudgeons last year ]
try searching "lateacara dorsiger" this fish is many times sold as curviceps .

Have you considered "Apistos" , maybe "Nannacara" species , maybe "checker board cichlids "................

So, all Cichlids become aggressive when mating? In that case, would it be easier getting two of the same gender rather than one male and one female?

Oh, also, my tank is a 63 litre tank. It has Width: 61cm / Height 42cm / Diameter 35cm.

Have a look at my tank in my signiture. Is it big enough for some large Cichlids?
