Thanks for everybodies help thus far. I have ordered my plants from Greenline, basically the types I listed in an earlier thread, which were okayed by George Farmer.
What I would now like to is, do I dose for K, N, P and CO2 to the targets in the pinned EI article or do I build up to them?
I have tested my tap water at pH 7.2, KH 4, GH4 and phosphate at 5. Would there be any benefit, considering these values, using RO water during the 50% water changes. I have easy access to RO water.
Assuming all things are going well, when can I start adding fish? I was hoping to start with algae eating shrimps and Otos.
What stock level should I go for eventually in my 120l Juwel Lido? I was hoping for some of the above, plus Corydoras, Cardinals and a pair of Rams.

Cheers, Dave.

Hi Dave,

Your tap water is fine and suitable for the soft water loving fish you have chosen.

Don't worry about 5ppm PO4, it means you won't need to spend as much £ on KH2PO4. You may only need to dose a little in the middle of the week. The 50% water will keep levels up.

Because you are planting so heavily and will get great growth due to your high lighting and nutrients, then you could stock animals early on. I'd give it a week or so just to allow the plants to adapt and really get going, and so will be prepared to uptake NH3/4, NO2 etc.
