USA,
would a few more danios overcrowd my tank? I know they should be in groups of 6. I kinda want to have 8 total though. They will always stick together right?

Danios don't really "school", if that's what you're looking for. They do stick together somewhat, but only on the basis of finding a buddy to nip. You could probably get by with adding a few more, but I wouldn't suggest upping your school to 8. Also, you might consider getting a few more panda cories (and/or) - they are pretty shy fish and would feel much safer with some buddies.

i think hes a mix though, would real pandas like her or no?

thats good. I dont think two of the corys like her though. I know Molliedos does because they were with eachother for the longest time. She waits for her and plays with her. Its such a cute little friendship.

I've always thought having 1x male and 1x female (or 2x) would be beneficial to most species.

From my experience, 'Juliethegr8t's right by saying that Danio's do nip each other.

Only Zebra danios have a tendancy to nip,
please people don't tar all DANIOS with the same brush :grr:

That's just as bad a stereotyping people.

the nip but its so cute. Actually, Nothing, thats the first one we got, is always alone, never with Something and Anything. Dont know why though.

My apologies Danio2004. You are of course right in saying what you did.

I once did have some Long-finned Leopard Danio's. They looked great to start of with, but I soon noticed when they had settled down, they started chasing each other around the tank, nipping at each others 'heels'.

I take it its the short-finned varieties that don't nip (as much/if any)?

hi wrs

my pandas were not fussy about who they shoaled with (!) they thought my albino peppered was their friend! I'm sure if you got a few more pandas yours would be happier and probably more palyful and active. :)

Leopards are a morph of the zebra, so they will have the nipping instinct in them. however I have just come accross some longfinned pearls, in my reasearch ,that will nipp, the normal pearls will not. Maybe the longfins are an advert of food to them :dunno: :D
