It could takes months unfortunately mate, it could just take several weeks.... no real guarantee's really apart from saying it certainly will take much longer than 48hrs.

As to the java moss, it pops up quite often on this for for sale in the classifieds.... just keep an eye out and you may get lucky :)

Hi

Thanks for the reply so is it safe to put in my tank then?

Yep, completely safe, the tannins wont harm the fish in the slightest...infact it's reported to be good for them... aesthetically though, not everybody likes it.

Yeah Course!

Tannins actually promote fish health and so are suitable for fish tanks. However unless your aiming for an amazon theme or something along those lines, people tend to want crystal clear water. But by all means, throw it in there. You can add carbon and purigen to try to alleviate the water. however water changes will help too.

Personally I have it in the 30G and love the yellowy shaded colour, my neons love it too!

Java moss Sees CLASSIFIEDS or LFS. If you want to ensure your snail free but from some where like AquaEssentials or the Green Machine

You can boil it. It will only take around 2 hours when you boil it.
Here is a link to a little tutorial on youtube
