i have seen a set on ebay for £20 that i am going to buy.

i am just unsure on how to attach them to my tank. i have got a juwel rekord 96 that i have modified to add an extra light.

any tips would be great! cheers peeps

well i got the LED spotlight kit from ebay and it came with everything you need.

little weights for putting the lights under water in which case i jus buried the cable under the gravel.

or some suckers that you can push the LEDs through and then stick em to the sides of ya tank.

also comes with stickers and cable ties.

i got these ones

Sorry to jump in, wanted to ask a question relating to the razer-opto lights you have Sam.

Firstly, did you choose only one colour or a mix and which colours did you choose? I was considering getting only one colour - either blue, white, yellow or ultra-violet, but can't imagine what they look like!

Would white be too bright and freak out any night feeding fish people have? Would the ultra-violet look like a bad club scene?

If you could show a pic of yours, that would be helpful.
Thanks,
Ami

i went with blue and ordered another 2 spots (u get 3) cos my tank needed them to get a decent effect.

i couldnt comment on different colours cos i havent seen them but u can turn the brightness up or down so im sure white wouldnt be too bright.

having sed that i think blue would be best tho!

ill have another go at getting a pic 2morro but when i tried before the lights didnt show up.

camera jus wouldnt pick it up altho it is set quite bright.....

there definately worth the £14.95 they cost!

i doubt yours do laura. i assume you've bought a cold cathode kit like mine (2 12 inch thin tubes).

punch 2 holes in your reflectors and tie them underneath next to the main tubes with cable ties.

they are water resistant not waterproof

I got the waterproof LED lights from Razor Opto. I have 4 blue LEDS shining down from the lid to highlight features, and one UV shining up through an air curtain. They work well in my 170L tank, but the UV LED doesn't give quite as much visible light as I hoped.

I do recommend you think about how long the wires need to be for your tank and get them made the right length as the default length was a fraction short for the LEDs furthest from the power pack in my setup.

i emailed razor opto with my tank size and he told me what i needed and added the xtra wire for me. :D :D

i use 5 spots tho, 2 at the back/bottom shining up and 3 at the front shining down.

doesnt light up the whole tank but i like it that way.

puts a wicked blue shadow on my ceiling too and you can see the fish swim in that lol.
