Just a short video of my monster platy mama. She's become huge!! You can see her daughters as well which are nearly a year old now. Mama platy was as big as them when I bought her. It's a female tank only. I never got males and the ones that big mama popped out have been removed when babies and live in another tank.
Wondering if anyone has one of them monster platies?

You can see her half way through the video. Sorry for the bad quality and I recommend you turn off the volume :fun:

Nice fish... My very first platy is still a baby at just an inch long... but if my guppies are anything to go by... I think my platy will turn into a monster one day too!

Wow, she IS one big mama! :) Her daughers are so cute too :) Your tank is absolutely beautiful by the way!

Thanks. The poor tank can only grow anubias and hydrophilia but it does the trick

And a red platy picture: ( I guess the glass is due cleaning :fun:)

Love your tank! I really like the plant on the little cave thing. Where'd you get it?

Do you mean the one over the coconut?

I made it myself, got a coconut from the pet shop and glued the plants with superglue. They attach the rest of the roots themselves over time. There are two types of anubias on it, the top one, in the middle with the spiky leaves is anubias barteri ''Angustifolia'' then all around it at the lowel level is anubias barteri var. nana. It gives it a bit of height and colour contrast with the two types of anubias once the nana type leaves go dark green(I used the newly grown clippings from my older anubias so they are still baby colour :look:

I've got one in the betta tank too. Here's a picture:

That's really cool :) I didn't know superglue was fish-safe  Great idea though, do the fish actually hide in the coconut? :)

They go in and out but not really staying inside. I've seen the baby pleco, the platies and the even the new corys I got a couple of days ago. The betta loves his one and is in and out of it all day. It's probably good for spawning fish like apistogramma cacatuoides who like to guard their fry after birth.

Superglue was initially made for human use, to stick wounds and cuts, so it hardenes in water and contains no harmful chemicals to fish. It has to say cyanoacrylate only without any additives and just be careful not to put much as it turns white on the decoration and looks amateur like mine

Here is my betta emerging out of his one:
