Monster catfish caught

well, the people in a "remote village" ate it. i dont see whats wrong with that, people that live in villages cant be picky of what they eat or they will starve

That thing had to be very old. Its good to know it lived a very long time and in passing was able to supply a meal to many many villagers.

I wouldn't wanna go swimming where they cought that catfish! I have to say I hate underwater monsters. Unless there in a viewable tank. :alien:
I so agree with you!! I hate swimming in ponds because I cant see whats around me. When I was little we had a huge pond and I usually stayed in the shallow end but sometimes I'd swim in the deep end..well I can remember my brother telling me Liz theres something huge coming after you. There I am in my life jacket doggy paddling to the shore  Bad brother!!!

I also had a fear when I was little of taking a bath...it was all due to seeing that movie JAWS!!! not a great movie for a 7-8 year old to see
omg reminds me of my older brother... there is this lake in weatherford where i grew up :) and my older brother like used to take me down to the lake and he said that there was a croc in it... and threw me in... needless the to say i was drowning and my bro got slapped!!

????? that cat fish is not endangered - anyway thats beside the point do you eat meat/ well then its the same as when youre tucking into your steak. these people cant aford much and food is food.

I am a veggie and at one point was totaly against fishing. My hsband does carp fishing and at no point are the fish hurt during this. If they were then i wouldnt let him do it. simple!!
I love to see the fish he catches and some are the most beautiful fish you could ever see. Especially common carps.
If any part of the fish are injured during this then they put on the wound some liquid stuff that heals it quite quicky. Also it doesnt cause fish any stress. All fish are put back alive and well, and ready to put a smile on another anglers face!!
If it would in anyway harm a fish then my husband wouldnt be aloud to do it.
Also, if you think it is a cruel sport. How do you feel about them poor animals that you enjoy tucking into with your sunday dinner? Do you think they go through a painless time? I dont think so, Most of the time the animals are still alive when they hang them to let the blood drip from there bodies, and also if they do die with no pain it is still a very stressful time for them. At least with fishing, the fish go back alive and are not put through stress at any point!!!

That catfish is endangered. I read an article before that was about releasing one of those same catfish into the same river and that they were endangered.

Mekong's are endangered. Their populations are 20% if that of what they were just a few years ago.
