Hi I dont often venture in to this part of tff but I've been given some mollys so I am sure I'll be in and out a lot more :)

my question is I have alot of blanketweed in my wildlife pond no chemicals have ever been near it I just wondered if my mollys would enjoy a little blanketweed now and again

cheers

Mollies like greens in their diet but they seldom eat plants. I find they nibble on some algae and really go for spirulina flake food. I am not sure what plant you are calling blanket weed. I use duckweed as a cover in my molly tank to help remove nitrogen from the water but they don't eat much. Once in a while I scoop off quite a bit of it and use it to feed my rainbow cichlids. The have no desire to ever skip a plant meal so it disappears pretty quickly in their tank.

I just googled blanketweed. It seems it is a green algae. For that I would use some Ameca splendens or even some rainbow cichlids to eat it up for you. They go through algae like nobody's business. I doubt the mollies would do much to eat it but might enjoy a small amount for a treat. I would be careful introducing algae into a tank unless you are prepared to let it grow there. Some algae can be very difficult to control.
