hey im a newbie in breeding mollies...... i have a red eye molly a small one that is pregnant..... and have a yellow and red colored thing beside her abdomen....... i separate her from other fish in a small pond with many plants..... can it have a succesful birth????? plsss help cuz i have failed breeding for 3 tries already....... my best regards to all reply.....

Livebearers are very very stupid. They will quite happily give birth to their fry, then turn around and eat them. That's probably what happened in your 3 tries. This pond you refer to - is it heated and filtered? That may also be a cause of problems if it's not.

If you provide lots of fine leaved plants, something like java moss, to give the fry somwhere to hide, you will eventually end up with some fry.

I'm also going to move this thread to the Livebearers section. Have a look at the pinned topics here, they will be of great help to you.

im a newbie..... but after 3 days, it give birth to 13 fry ....... at last first tim e..... now i got black molly ,.... and its square-off,..... i see  white colored thing located below his belly ,..... does this indicate it gonna give birth???

I can't say for definite, but being squared-off means that birthing is imminent.

ammmm.... can u put a 2 week old fry to the adults...? will this one be eaten if i do it..

It depends on what's in the tank. Sometimes mollies will eat molly fry, sometimes they don't. But any other species will lunch it up, if the fry are small enough to fit in their mouth.

awh ok........ i put it in the canvas not in the tank........ but theyre growing.......
