I have heard a rumor that mollies are unsociable fish. is that true? what kind of other fish should i put in witht hem? i have a 70L tanks so any suggestions on community tanks would be much appricated. i would like a red-tailed shark but i don't know whether they are compatable with mollies.
Also what are the best breeding conditions for mollies? I really want to breed them quite quickly after i buy them. my tank is empty at the moment.
Thanks

Not sure the red tailed shark would like the 70L tank. How long / wide / tall is the tank?
And I heard mollies get pretty big. o_O

Sharks are classified as semi aggressive Molly's are considered peacefully so No you can't put them together, we have our Mollies with Guppies, neons, black skirt tetras, a dwarf gourami ( although these things love to snack on fry) and a brush nosed Pleco(55 g tank). As for the breading you will need 1 male for every 2 females, the females are almost always pregnant when they are in the pet store so fry should not take long.

tank size means the shark should not be considered. They get to a good six inches and need more room than a 70L can provide.

There are pretty much no special conitions that are needed to make common livebearers breed, provided that you have a male and a female together or the female has been in contact with a male in the past 6 months. You should have 2 females to 1 male.

A red tailed shark is completely unsuitable for a tank that size. They grow quite large fairly quickly. Most mollies, not all of course, are quite suitable to a peaceful tank. There are exceptions where a molly is semi-aggressive but they are not as common as people would have you believe.

agreed, red tailed sharks need at least a 40 gallon tank (approx 180 liters)
