Ok so I have a Aqueon QuietFlow™ Power Filter,
I find it sickly since I started using the canister(s) I've added to my arsenal.
Yet.. I would , no i will find a way maximize it's usefulness.

So would you as an informed Aquarist leave it as is or modify it?

I have a bit of an idea utilizing sponges and filter floss but would like input.

I have some of those filters that I got free, by exchanging dead filters at a special promotion they held at my LFS. I find they flow nicely with a clean pad in them and adequate tank water level. Since the impeller is in the inlet itself, they will only work right with adequate water levels, unlike many other HOB filters that have the impeller inside the filter body.
What kind of problems are you having?

No problems, was just considering replacing the carbon bag with sponge and maybe putting filter floss in. don't really like the media in there much
