Hi,

I've got a 180L (47 US gal) tank that I'm setting up. It's going to have a few bristlenose plecs and some corys but reading another thread someone has said in passing that mixing guppys and pearl gouramis is not a good plan due to fin nipping.

I'm looking at 1 female and 1 male, and probably 6 or so guppys. I've got some rocks in the tank with hiding spots, and I'm going to get some plants (some floating)

Anyone have any comments?

Cheers,

BFG

Are you sure it was pearl gouramies? Pearl gouramies are very peaceful fish. they usualy mind their own business with only, occasionaly, very slight aggression between males over territory. A trio would do well in your tank as long as you don't over-stock.

ok - may have missed the type of gourami in the post. I'm truly paranoid about overstocking as this is my first tank, so hopefully that won't happen. I was thinking abouta trio, but had held off, so may go for that.

Cheers.

I have pearls living with guppies and have never ever seen the pearls take the slightest bit of interest in them.
In fact I have pearls living in all my bigger tanks as they are such a beautiful and peaceful fish
