In my jurnal for my new tank, I have been warned that Plecos are tempted often to mound discus to feed on their slime coat. My research into discus has mentioned this also, but indicated that L66 and L18 are not offenders when it comes to this offence. Which info is correct?

Thanks in advance for the advise

I have never kept L66 or L18 with or without Discus, so I can't give you a definite answer. I advise you not to get the L18 as it grows so big(14 inch possible), it would be a massive waste producer requiring a very large tank. The L66 looks like a good choice as it stays fairly small, is a meat eater and can tolerate the high temperatures that Discus require.

Take a look at the L134, Leopard frog pleco. I keep one of these in a Discus tank and it never bothers the Discus. They are a lovely looking plec and he eats any food that the Discus miss.

Exelent, thanks for that..the L66 were the ones that I was most worried about, as there are three in the tank wich the discus will get, and they are a pain to catch. The L18 is in there too, on his own, and is quite a trusting fellow, and slightly easire to catch. The tank is 4 foot, and has two exturnals running on it. I intend to maintain a 10% dayly waterchange shedual with this one, as I inderstand discus do not like sudden changes in water conditions.

Thanks again for your input :good:
