Mistaken Identity

well my 2 yellow cichlids which i thought were labs, i now think they may be pseudotropheus soulosi
the good news is they i also think i may have 3 of the males as well. i know i nee to get more females now which i will do soon. thanks clare for enlightening me

oh lol
well in that tank there are the four you can see. i also have a smaller of the yellow 1's 2 firemouths & 3 melanochromis auratus.
will try n get more pics of the rest of the fish in there so you can see what you think.
just need to find some batteries for my camera

I'm guessing the smaller (yellow) one is actually a male Estherae but pics will help.

That looks like a Pseudotropheus Socolofi.

take it you mean the blue 1 looks like a socolofi.
is there a chance that the fry could end up being hybrids ??

Yeah, the blue one is the Socolofi. Hybrids are certainly possible with Mbuna but doesn't happen that often, didn't you say you had another yellow one? Could that be another Estherae or is it a yellow lab?

oh man don't ya just love lfs. i got them both at the same time for £8 the pair as yellow labs.
it will now explain why i got them at the same size & now 1 is bigger than the other.
