Missing Scales On Goldfish

Im a great advocate for using salt treatments on goldfish before trying man made chemicals especially for fungus, ich and other parasites. Its a great tonic when used in small doses. I do not recommend keeping goldies in permanent saline solution though.

For me personally i use 1 level teaspoon per gallon to act as a stress reliever. 2 level teaspoons to help fight fungal diseases and help aid breathing and 3 for ich and other external parasites. Higher doses I use only as a bath or dip. Never ever use salt for any reason on fish less than 2 inches in body length.

These are my own personal preferences so please dont disrespect the methods i use...each to their own. Ive never had a problem using salt whereas ive lost fish using chemicals.

No disrespect, I just find this an interesting topic, so was wondering if you've read the topic I posted, or if you have any science behind using salt in tiny doses, especially as a stress reliever or to aid breathing? :)
Or is it just down to personal experiance?

Im not ignoring this thread but will get back to this soon. Got a stinking cold so probably wouldnt make sense

Ive used salt for many years and what seems a small concentration to you isnt really as any salt added is going to have some sort of effect.

I know you've probably been busy, and I hope you don't still have have that cold, but I thought I'd bump this topic before I forget myself .

If you do still have the cold, hope your better soon :(.
