Miss Quasi Has A Bubble Nest

That is a good question. I don't know how Synirr determined her gender. I have been unable to see an ovipositor, but I have not tried very hard to see. I have not seen any barring on her, stress or vertical. I have no reason to think she is a girl except that Synirr sent her to me as a girl. Perhaps this weekend I will try to check her closer. She is very small yet. But not too small to make as good a bubble nest as any of my boys! I am just still calling her a girl for expediencies sake, and because I still think of her that way out of habit.

Whichever, I am looking forward to seeing what she accomplishes with herself. She is a happy little thing and very smart.

One of my girls is very male acting and has much longer fins and its really hard to tell if there is an ovipositor or not. Shes still in with the girls and there havent been any major problems. For a little hunchback yours is obviously happy and loving it in her home!

This is my best bubble nester...in a strop as I am cleaning his tank out.ready for Xmas...

and the boy behind him is flaring at him and scaring him...

She may infact be a he, I never said for certain it was female, just that that's what I thought
Quasi never built a nest with me and the anal fin didn't appear very pointed, so that's what I based my analysis on, but like I said, I could very well have been wrong, it's pretty hard to tell with that deformy body :p

So we change his name from Miss Quasi to the full out Quasimodo (sp), it's still a cute little fish with a great home now. :)

Yeah! I really am the one that put the Miss in front of the Quasi. I think I'll drop the Miss for a while. Quasi still isn't hanging under the nest. It's beginning to look a little neglected. But it is still together.

Miss Kinky is starting to get rambunctous in her bowl: swimming several spasi laps around the bowl over and under the big pink cloth plant. She is very funny. She may need a bigger bowl soon.

Quasi swims very well actually. I may try to upgrade her to a filtered tank. If it works for her, then Miss Kinky can have her bowl. Oops! His bowl?

Such a cute puppy, lldjma!
