Hey,

My stepfather had an idea that I thought I would run past you since someone here should know the answer.

He thought it would be pretty cool to put a mirror in the back of the tank either on the inside or the outside of the tank.

I thought this might not be the best idea because the fish would definately see themselves... would this not cause some stress or would it be fine.

Also I know that the metal could leach into the tank if it was on the inside and I know I wouldn't want to try and hang it on the side.

So can this be done at all in any way? Has anyone ever tried it?

they sell tanks with mirrored backs in pets@home.
wouldn't be any good for a betta thou as it would just get stressed seeing himself all the time

yeah ive seen those mirrored tanks in pets at home and ive seen one with fish in and although they do look gorgeous I think it must be stressful for some types of fish like bettas or firemouths for example.but thats just my opinion. :D

yes should be ok but no metal on mirror inside......
what about stick on mirror paper put like backing on reverse

Now that's a good idea. I will have to look into that. Probably less weight, less expensive... definately an idea. Thanks

Cheap mirror backing... foil Christmas/gift wrapping paper - the back is almost a mirror !

hey thats a nifty idea get one of them tanks with the mirror back from pets @ home paint the back black except for a circle in the middle would give the same effect
