Minimum Tank Size

What is the minimum tank size for Shrimp I have an extra 1 gallon and wondering if I could have any ghost shimp and how many

Well they say you should have 1" of fish to every 1 gallon of water. I'm assuming you want to add these to a tank with fish for cleaning purposes?
