Mini Cycles?

The past couple of days iv started noticing ammonia and nitrite in my water. After 12 hours the ammonia can reach 0.6 and nitrite gets to 0.1, i dont understand why. Does anyone ever get this problem?

mini cycles can be caused by many things, adding new fish, over feeding, filter media cleaning, too large a water change(with no water conditioner), something dying and rotting.

have you done or had any of the mentioned?

Thats the one >.> Cleaned it in tank water, first clean in 4 months as the filter was clogged.

Any idea how long it will last? Im doing 50% a day changes atm, 25% in the morning and 25% at night.

depends on how well you cleaned the media, if its just a rinse then only a day or too, if you really cleaned it a little longer. just keep an eye on it like you are already.
The bacteria just needs to catch up again that's all, it can double every 24hrs apparently,

Ok nice one, its always a worry when you see a little spike, moreso at the moment because the water quality has stopped my corys breeding >.<
