Hi does anyone know if bottled mineral water still contains chlorine and still need to dechlorinate? My tap water has like 40 ppm of nitrate so wanna use bottles :)

thanks

Hmm just been reading bottled water isnt that good for fish so i guess this option is out.

There was a thread a year or so ago that seemed to suggest that bottled water did indeed have chlorine but when I do a search, it seems that most everything says that it does not.

Just the discussions people were having on the contents of minerals in the water being to high for most fish.

Not sure what else is out there ill check it out.

Any other ideas to keep my nitrates down?

huum a couple of people said they "thought" it may have too much mineral content. one said he wouldn't use it because it has minerals in??????????? probably the daftest comment i have ever seen on a fish forum. unless you keep very sensitive acid water fish, the only real problem is the cost. but if someone has some links indicating why the stuff is bad for fish, i would be interested in it. incidentally, in the UK the richest most diverse aquatic habitats are our chalk rivers, oddly the most mineral rich waters you could find.

Hmm ok well for now ill just have to do more regular water changes, its not going to cost that much to get bargain bottled water, and i dont have a huge tank. but Ill keep an eye on things :)
