As per title, also must it be heated?

the eggs hatch faster and more evenly in warm water. I rest my hatchery on top of a fish tank. The shrimp hatch out after a day or so. Cooler water takes longer.

I use a 1.5 litre plastic measuring jug. Half full of water with an airstone bubbling away in it. I add 1/2 level teaspoon of eggs to this container. You can use less eggs depending on how many fish you need to feed. Don't have too many eggs in the water otherwise they don't hatch properly and the water goes off really quickly.
I use a plant mister to wash the eggs back into the water two or three times a day.

You can also use a 2litre cool drink bottle or a 2 litre icecream bucket.

Really depends on how many you want. A lot of people (myself included) just use a 2 litre Coke bottle with an airstone and a desk-lamp (which will provide heat as well as light).

Ahh cool I have a 1.7 gallon hex with low lights, lid etc. I can use this yeah?

When I had them I just left them on the Window ledge. Plenty of light and warmth.

Warmth on a windowsill in geordieland? Don't you get winter there then? My windowsills are letting in a nasty draft in this cold weather but a windowsill for light with a heater in the tank sounds like an option fo' sho' :good:

i float a coke bottle in the tank for warmth and light and add airstone (have to peg it to side so it doesnt topple over)
