I've got this problem with my java fern, it's been happening for over 2 months now. Haven't found out why, but the java ferns are still growing healthily. I remember doing a search on google, and i came up with something that said if they get too much light, their leaves can turn translucent. Not sure if that's what this is, as it happens to some but not others that are in the light
