I've has my tank running for about a week(has cycled for 3 weeks, just put fish in for one week), and There are these little white spec looking things comming out of the powerheads, and floating around the tank. Are these microbubbles? The skimmer does let out some microbubbles into the sump, but they can't get to the pump. Also, the pump inlet is completely submerged in water. What could it be? I need a way to fix it or else I can't get corals. (or can corals tolerate microbubbles but sponges cant, cause I'm not getting sponges)

I plan on getting LPS and softies for my tank, tell me if microbubbles are harmfull to them, if they arent microbubbles, and how to fix this.

Thanks

If it's just a few bubbles then you'll be fine, if it's a white foam you can't see through, bad ;)

Occasionally my maxijet powerhead shoots out a burst of microbubbles, and my corals seem to thrive just fine :good:

ditto with the above - I've yet to get a sump so my skimmer chucks out bubbles all the time in the tank. I have sponges and corals and its never affected them so far. Its just a PITA

I think the sponge thing relates to them getting air bubbles trapped inside the tissue if they are exposed to air for any reason, this causes them to melt away.
