Are you going outside tonight to watch the meteor showers? we are going after Dexter (10pm, channel - FX) and sit for a while to see if we can spot them. Visible in US and UK apparently so we stand an equal chance of seeing them.

I promised Dylan I would come get him up if I saw any so he could come see them too....here's a link :)

Meteors in the UK

That was a cool meteor shower - it's still going on but it's getting a bit cold out for us, even wrapped in blankets.

Dylan is still up (12:50am) he was so excited since I told him if we saw any I would come get him up so he could see them too, he hasn't been able to sleep yet. We've been outside for the last hour and he spotted his own meteor.

Dan and I sat out too and we saw one together. Dan saw one while I wasn't looking and I have seen about 7 now, including a big one with a great tail that glowed orange.

Unfortunatly last night was well too cloudy in Holland so I didn't get to see any.
On Saturday night I saw about 15 in the hour I was outside, which was nice =)
Friday night was about 4 in 2 hours, but still worth it just because we had a very clear sky. Telescope was playing up though, so didn't get to use that. Doubt we would have been able to catch them on telescope anyway :p

Real shame we didn't get to see anything last night, which was supposedly the best night to watch it. Still happy with what we saw the 2 previous nights though =)

me and my girls got up at 2 this morning to sit on the lawn and watch, we had a fantastic display, there were white blue and red/orange, it was olso fun counting how many satelites we saw passing overhead!!

Also got the telescope out and got a fantastic view of mars

all in all a good night

My eldest daughter is only 10 as so far she has seen

A Comet (hale-bopp was in the sky why she was born, i showed her out of the hospital window), but i dont think she can remember ;)
A Blue Moon
A Blood Moon
A total Lunar Eclipse
A total Solar Eclipse
And now a good meteor shower

It was quite cloudy at first, but cleared up for a short while at around 23:00 Sunday, before clouding again. Saw one faintish one. I went back out around 01:30 and did get to see one good bright one through a gap in the clouds.

Jupiter is out for us now....with our telescope, you can see three of her moons. SH
