i am treating for tail rot on a male rosy barb whose spine also seems bent (s-shaped fish).

the instructions on the melafix bottle say to dose daily for 7 days before doing a water change. but if i do, i'd imagine the tank would be very concentrated with melafix.

should i do as the instructions say or just dose 1 day and wait 7 days before a water change?

ps. i moved my female betta to my 20g because i read on older threads that melafix was potentially harmful to bettas.

I would dose as the instructions tell you, I've used melafix and done the whole 7 day without a water change thing and I didn't have any problems.

Melafix is not going to mend a bent spine.
Causes of bent spines are old age, vitamin definciency, internal parasites to fish tb.

Do as the bottle says.

Besides melafix isn't exactly going to do any harm it's only tea tree oil.

If its bacterial finrot melafix is not good, it's only good on cuts and wounds.
