Now that i have my archers just been curious as to if i can stock anything else...Technically i have an African knife fish but dont see him at all during the day.....which is a bummer (i think it has to do with where i got him)
Anyways its a 65 gallon
final stocking
5X Toxotes microlepis- freshwater archerfish for those of you who dont know, they get 5" max usually and stay towards the top.
1x African knifefish....he likes to play hide and go seek....

Cant have anything competing with the african knifefish....and nothing too small to be eaten although the archers are only like 2-3" tiny little guys...

anything that tends to stay towards the bottom more so?

What about a couple pairs of apistogrammas? Or Laetacara? Peaceful dwarves with some color.

Sounds like a good idea...are there any cichlids that get about 4 inch? my archers literally chase anything that is 2" until they catch it...

Apistos would probably be food to be fair especially when young.

And to be honest since you have such unique fish in here I would really look at keeping things for Asia/ parts of Africa. Spotted Climbing Perch would be nice as would a Spiny Eel maybe? Reed Fish perhaps?

And a nice school of medium sized barbs - Ruby or Pandas perhaps?

Exactly! thanks! ill have to look a little bit more into it but think it would be awesome for at least one more oddball/ type of fish

Climbing perch: always liked their looks but i think i wanna find something a bit more active like the medium sized barbs you mentioned.

Barbs: Research en route!

Spiny eel/ropefish: need to get more info as when i asked neale he mentioned my african knifefish would likely out compete the eels for food.
As silly and have to say horrible of me to say, ive been thinking of finding my african knife fish a new home....he's just really a PITA to feed since he NEVER takes food with lights on.....not even when its front of his face...which poses the PITA task of running down 2 stories to the freezer waiting 5 mins taking up bloodworms, and waiting for him to come out..especially on school nights when i usually am sleeping when he's out lookin fer munchies.... and i never even see him at all....i was told wrong about these guys as everyone was saying how they will come out during feeding when everything else is being fed and how they willl sometimes roam the tank...anyways whatever..

If only one out of the 20,000,000 (maybe not that many.) reptile/fish/pet stores had/would not be lazy and actually try to get some in....There just so hard to find! Maybe Mikalia13 can just take videos daily of hers so its almost like i had some!

How about Congo Tetras? These are often recommended for some colourful yet calm daylight activity in tanks containing placid oddballs like ABF; Ctenopoma; Reedfish; African Knife Fish etc.

Id be willing to escapeproof no matter what the cost, they are too awesome to pass up! And yes mikalia told me about her incident...

Love congo tetras as well! Id probably prefer them over barbs due to their color and aren't too large yet too small

dont you think though that 5 5" archers and African knifefish and a school of congos is overdoing it? Idk myself as im not used to dealing with large tanks...

thereverendturtle! My lfs has tons of them in, but ill probably wait for their 25% off all fish sale in april to get them.... if i did go with the congos, and with everything else i have right now, and i just so happen to have located some Caecillians would they be ok with the amount of fish in there? From what im reading/ read Typhlonectes natans doesn't produce alot of waste...
