Hi everyone, I just got a fluval 305 from a friend and was wondering what are good media to put inside the filter. I have a planted tank and its a 30 gallon. Thanks!

Can't go wrong with ceramic noodles or disc media really most ceramic media is great.

This may help you learn a little more of filter media, personally in my external filter, i had, ceramic noodles, bio balls, sponge, and then filter floss at the top to catch any remaining particles before water goes into the tank.

I have the same filter on my 29g. in mine I have on the bottom ceramic rings, in the middle I have two carbon socks and the top I have filter floss. And the sponges on the side compartment.
