well my kribs layed eggs on tuesday and today the eggs have turned into wriggelers. they are viabrating and moving around some with tails. i am so excited. it seems weird after a few days of watching stationary eggs and now this life form coming out haha i sound cheesey so i will stop now haha. hints or tips gladly taken on board at this present time. also when should i remove the fry from the parents is it when they start to not look after them as much. also when they stop looking after them as much and have another spawn wil they treat their babies as any normal fish for example chasing away.
thanks

here is a short video not a very clear one but if you look closely at the bottom right hand side of their cave you can see the eggs/wriggelers which are sort of orrange in colour. just had another look any mum is being kept busy because they are moving to where she doesnt want them so she keeps having to move them.
sorry about the quality but you get the jist

it is their first brood together aswel. i know the male has already taken care of atleast 1 brood in the petshop but dont know about the female. not sure on how mnay there is idont think its a massive batch but i am happy as i was purposely trying to breed them and success haha.

Fingers crossed for you then,, see if you can get some micro-worms cultures, try you local fish shop :good:
best to feed fry's live foods as first foods.....Like m/w or b/s <brine shrimp<freshly hatched>.......

just checked after i came home from work i turned the pump off to stop the flow so i could see an over head view clearly and the eggs have not turned into the frys belly and they have developed a see through body and have eys and are moving around the cave i managed to get 1 picture which i will post soon enough you can see 2 of them not very clear but haha. i tried to get another picture but mummy was not taking any chances and picked them up in her mouth.

edit have turned into the frys belly haha

checked now and they are swimming alot more around the cave some starting to swim up right. can anyone tell me how long it will take before they are free swimming and mum brings them out. also how are they going to grow do they use the egg as protein or something.
thanks

from eggs with tails to free swimming usually around 4-5days.....once you notice the egg sack dissapearing then start feeding.......The egg sack is a boost wilst forming,,,Make sure your food's ready....I know have three tubs of micro-worms at different stages and constantly changing around :good:

o ok then thanks. so i think it was yesterday when i noticed them to move around or it ould have been the day before. anyway just sayy it was yesterday do you think they could be free swimming on monday. i think there is about 15 not too large of a brood but i am so thrilled.
thanks
