Mbuna Species

can you mix Psuedotropheus Saulosi with anything other than other Mbuna species? I was thinking about getting a demason's cichlid but just found out they are one of the super aggressive ones, and that this one is a simular peaceful one. I was thinking about mixing the Psue. Saul. with either rams or gobys but have no idea if this would work.

Rams need soft, acidic water, Mbuna need hard, alkaline water. That wouldn't work (and the Mbuna would kill the Rams). No idea about the other species.

ok thanks. I want some colorful fish and obviously the cichlids pop out, but they seem so hard to pair with other fish. Is there anything that has the blues of the pseudotropheus saulosi/demason's cichlid but would work for a community tank?
