Maybe I'm Paranoid... But

I've had it about 48 hours, (I know, this is why I might just be paranoid) but the thing is INCREDIBLY AFRAID of light, movement, or anything approaching the tank! It'll eat fine, and it dosen't show any signs of sickness (will post a pic if needed) but it keeps running back behind the piece of slate that "belongs" to my Black Ghost Knife, & I'm just scared it'll get pissy and bite it! is this just a moving stress thing, a personality thing, or what? (what being, you're a paranoid idiot. Quit worrying)

It's perfectly natural for them to be timid in a new environement, but I would hope you have more then one spot to choose from as far as hiding goes - somewhere the sev can get to if the BGK chases him out.

If you've got somewhere for it to hide, it will probably feel safer... it will chill out eventually!

Absolutely... it has plenty of places to hide. The tank has several fake plants & a large lava rock in the opposite corner of the tank, so it finding a new place to hide isn't a problem. Thanks so much, I am just paranoid

I like using pots... that way they can back into the corner and only have to worry about defending the 1 opening... pvc pipe works well for that too.

Well, I think I fixed the problem. I bought three silver dollars (all smaller than the severum) and now that he has dither fish, he's out all the time! (until I turn the light on.... we'll have to work on that)
