Mature Media Available On Long Island, Ny?

Hello all! I was not sure if this post should go in the newbie section or classifieds, so please feel free to move it if I guessed badly.

I am about 2 weeks into my very first fishless cycle and I was wondering if anyone on Long Island is available to share some mature media? I am off work this week so I can come to you or meet near your house at virtually any time that is convenient for you.

I did try to contact a volunteer from the stickied list but did not receive a response, so I'm hoping there is another kind soul out there with some media to share.

Try the LFS. Maybe they will let you put up a flyer or something.

What kind of filter do you have? Shipping filter media is relatively easy if you don't need too much. For me, a shipment of a small sample of my media to get you started would probably cost $5 or less. Other people might even be closer and able to get you a fresher sample of mature media.

Oh, and in answer to your question, it's a 29 gallon tank and the filter came as part of the package - it's a rinky-dinky carbon filter type thingy, but I can happily throw any type of media in to give it a kick start.
