Mature Filter Media

Hi,

Is there a member within reasonable distance of Bolton, Lancs willing to give me a small quantity of mature filter media to help kick start a new (first)tank?

Will obviously be willing to collect anywhere within the Greater Manchester area.

I cannot help as I live in ireland but there's a thread on here of members willing to donate, will have a look and see if I can get it for you.

I did see it, but unfortunately the members on the list, within reasonable distance to me, have not been active on the forum for a while, hence my plea.

Have you tried your local LFS? I know mine uses under gravel filter, so maybe ask them for a piece of media or gravel if they are using under gravel system. Maybe offer to pay a small amount. They can only say no
