maturation rate guppies

I'd have to add ot also depends (in my limited experience)

a-male or female

b-runtishness

out of our first batch of guppy fry (the survivors anyway) the largest or quickest growing was the only male otherwise with the girlies there are a couple approaching an inch and there's 2 well short of the mark (a little over 1/2 ")

Katchan

edit in - forgot to say these guppies are now about 10 weeks

Also depends on what they are fed and how often, what size tank they grow up in, the size of their parents and how aften the water is changed.

I have 3 week old guppy fry that are 3/4 inch long. They get fed 5 times a day on baby fish growth powder, are in a breeders box in the 30gal (which gets changed once a week), I am not sure who the parents are......they are also very active. Probably my most active fry yet and also the fastest growers.

I'd also say about 3 to 6months but it depends on the parents alot and their body build i.e if they are small guppys i.e 1inch, they take a shorter time to mature, but some guppys grow to 2inchs and these take longer.
Either way if you can help it, i'd only breed females at at least 6months+ old, any younger and they tend to die after giving birth- its like a 13yr old human having a child- they may be capable for it but that doesn't mean their body can handle or is ready for it.
