i have tried everything... absolutely everything but still they keep multiplying... every day i get rid on average about 50-80 snails... but it makes no difference... i feed once a day and only as much as they can eat and have been doing this for 4 months... i have got to the stage now where i just want to take all the fish out and fill the tank up with cyanide...

what can i do!

You could try the lettuce trick, pop a piece in at night & in the morning it should have snails on it you can get rid of.
Tbh they shouldn't be breeding that much if you're not overfeeding.
I have a few snails in each of my tanks, but rarely do I see more than a couple

I had the same issue with Malayisan Trumpet snails. I bought some plants one day and saw a little snail on there and thought hmmmm thats cute. About 1 month later I had millions of them! First thing YES cut down on food, yes lettice or cucumber works but doesnt get rid of them. Try and throughly rinse the filter as much as you can as they liked to live in my external fluval 205. However, all I could ever do was control them and in some ways at least you know the tank has a good eco-system.

Eventually but for many other reasons also, I gave the fish away, cleaned all the tank, new sand, filter media and am cycling it in.

Oh yes! I did by assain snails but my loach eat them! The trumpets were too small for him!

Good luck

Neil

I am only feeding as much as they can eat in 30 seconds

You could get some clown loache i think they eat snails.
