Well i'm not sure if its worth it but i got it for free and the impeller broke. They are around 20 bucks for the impeller. Should get a new impeller for it or should i get a new filter? I havent had a filter for months now and i've been doing fine without one but its good to have a filter but just not sure if its worth it or not. Can i get any suggestions on what you guys think. Thanks appreciate it.

honestly, I'd say no.
they are very old tech.
is a one stage unit designed for chemical filtration, and should be used with a bio filer.
get yourself a new filter.
it will:
work better,
work more efficiently.
and bring you into the 21st century.
