The algae issues I encountered were horrendous. Switching to RODI, controlling lighting, and controlling feeding, strict water changes, solid husbandry and it took nearly a year for me to clear it up. Anyone who ever asks me locally about getting started in the hobby I tell them an RODI unit is a must.
