Here's the run down
Monday hubby woke me up saying he was concerned about the male albino cory as he had been sat under the bogwood for about 20 mins without moving, but that he was definitely breathing.
I got up and checked on the lil' dude, wondered if he was just "chilling" and gave him a gentle nudge with a net. He moved but not far.
Did a set of water tests - Ammonia 0, NitrIte 0, NitrAte 20, pH ~7.4/7.6
When I fed them in the evening he didn't get excited like he usually does.
Tuesday morning he was about the same.
No clamping of the fins, no fast breathing, just sitting quietly, moving a little but not much and not often.
I fed the whole tank deshelled peas for breakfast. He did come over and get some. That was when I noticed he has what looks like a blood spot. It looks just like you've pricked your thumb with a pin - that tiny little red dot you get.
It could be his anal area, but I'm not 100% sure.
During the day he got a bit more active, not back to his usual self but definitely better.
Today, he is acting like his normal self, harrassing his girlfriend
, getting all excited about breakfast, and generally being a busy little cory.
But, the red spot is still there. It hasn't changed at all. He can't be feeling too bad, because he's trying to get his chosen female spawing with him.
I haven't managed to spot him pooping yet, but then I very rarely spot any corys pooping - I think they must go poop behind the plants, maybe they are shy
I was going to just keep an eye on him, make sure the water params stay good, and see how he does and probably give some more peas tomorrow.
Or is there something else I should be doing?
No other fish have any symptoms.
Nothing has been added to the tank since 14 Jan, last things added were nerite snails, shrimp and kuhli's.
