Can any1 tel me the amount of malawi cichlids that could be added in my 850 litre tank ???

What are the dimensions? Mbuna, haps or peacocks? Which species?

Well if those dimensions are correct, then what you have is a 450 litre tank.

With good filtration you could have 25-30 easily. I have same size tank with approx 12 times filtration and a x12 powerhead and I keep 5 Syno Multis about 18 mbuna and 5 Haps.

size of the tank is 186cm x 50cm x 105cm . i would prefer mbuna and few peacocks that may get along well with mbuna.

25-30 sounds about right if you take 4" Mbuna on average..

hey kat can ive only 25-30 fishes in my tank ?? i wish 2 add around 40 4" mbunas considering my tank is a 900L . i used the calculator in fishforums and found the capacity of my tank .

I would say 40 fish in that tank should be fine.
I had 30 odd (depending on births & deaths etc) in my 240L Mbuna setup.
You need good filtration and regular water changes.

Sorry, I didn't realise you corrected the dimensions on both posts: that is over 900 litres. You should be able to have 40 odd Mbuna, assuming you provide plenty of rockwork. The problem with a tank that tall is getting oxygen into the water.. I used to work with a tank that size and the way we got around it was by having a sump (and effectively doubling the surface area), that combined with the turbulence of the overflow did it for us, but 40 fish was really the upper limit and I decided to have 4" as the longest fish.
