Making Your Own Tank

hey guy..i'am just wondering has anyone ever made there own tank befor..i here it's alot cheeper if you make your own?? i want to upgrad to a 55 - 70 gl tank..and i know someone here in newfoundland that makes tanks but i was wondering do you think it's a good idea??

You would be better off just buying a tank, im not sure on glass but i know that acrylic can be rather expensive. But if you want a tank made to a custom size building your own is the better option, im not sure what i would take to have one made but plan on spending more than you would on a regular tank.

Having made both tanks before I can say that acrylic is way easier to make, but glass way cheaper. Either way though, I only make small sump tanks myself since they're very custom and bigger tanks are a PAIN to make. Leave the big display tanks to the pros

I have made a sump tank myself, but it will not win any awards. Also the price off the glass used was rather high. Buying a ready made tank for it would have probably been cheaper and looking a lot better for sure.

thanks guys..will be buying a pre made tank now! and i'am finding out the prices for a 55, 60 and 77 gl tank!
