I currently dose my quite heavily planted 200litre tank using Easycarbo and TNC complete

I have been looking at making my own ferts, is it really as easy as it looks?

I have also been looking at dosing using dry ferts, really confused now lol

I would be interested as how to other people fertilize their plants, through liquid or dry, pre mixed or mixing their own

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated

Comes with a sheet of paper that tells me how much to dose and when :p

so you only use the four ferts?

Of course, One is only if you have soft water too.

Where do you buy your ferts?

If you have a low light low tech tank all you need is Trace
http://www.aquariumplantfood.co.uk/fertilisers/dry-chemicals/dry-salts/chelated-trace-171.html

Mix 2tsp of this with 500ml of boiled and cooled water and dose 5ml per 50L daily.

If you have a high tech tank and inject co2 or dose carbon you will need macros and micros all of which are in this kit
http://www.aquariumplantfood.co.uk/fertilisers/dry-chemicals/starter-kits/ei-starter-kit.html

Standard Ei Dosing [This is a guideline only]

Macro Solution Mix, Shake & Leave to Dissolve Overnight:
4tsp Potassium Nitrate
1tsp Potassium Phosphate
6tsp Magnesium Sulphate
500ml of boiled and cooled Water

Micro Solution Mix, Shake & Leave to Dissolve Overnight:
1tsp Chelated Trace Elements
500ml of boiled and cooled Water

Dosing

Macro 3x a week. (10ml per 50ltr of Aquarium water)
Micro 3x a week. (10ml per 50ltr of Aquarium water)
20-50% weekly water change.

Either kit will last a 200L tank approx a year so they are extremely good value for money:)

Oh and it helps to have dosing bottles so you have something to mix in and help measure out dosing amounts

Thanks for the info SLIM, that is a great help.
