Well basically i had my ro unit going and set up etc

and i had to nip out and forgot all about it.

im 3 floors up.

and basically have flooded my neighbour down stairs theyre ceiling is pretty bad, no electricity etc

it is all council flats

is this gonna cost me alot??

you should be able to dry the situation out for about two weeks then paint the ceiling, weve been flooded from flat above 1st time was from a leaking shower tray in our bedroom, had big wash bins for five days catching the water, dried it out for one month then painted, good as new, second time was in the kitchen washing machine leak for how long, water was peeing out from the lights, again dried out for two weeks and a painter came round did three coats and again all fine,

maybe they could do the work then as they should have the insurance, but as i said before,i know its annyoing<we were panicing for ages but all worked out fine just leaving a water stain

I work for a housing association and i wouldnt pick up the bill. So:

How well do you know / like your neighbour? Offer to help them at every step.

Drain the ceiling - stick a pencil up through the plasterboard in a few water damaged places to get all the water out, or it will rot through and part of the ceiling will fall in. Small areas can be filled with polyfilla.

Electrics will be fine - they will need a day or two to dry out - dependant of volume of water that has come through.
