I can't guarentee the cam will be online when you read this, as it will only be when I'm at my computer, but check out:

live webcam image (will only display if webcam is online)

view the site for automatic refreshing image:

(The image refreshes every 2 seconds).

If anybody is interested, and they have a webcam I can tell you how to set it all up!

It doesn't cost a thing apart from having a webcam, and a computer connected to the internet (possibly on 24/7, preferably on broadband)!

Guide to create your own Fishcam

any idea what this fish is?

webcam gives out better picture than digital camera does!

it has a little black eye and is see through, little bit of red on his tail, and a bit of yellow on his fins:

there is lots of activity in the tank, but i cant move the cam any closer, because of distance, and reflections if i put it at the front of the tank.

this view is through the side

That's great ! Just saw some beautiful guppies swimming by ! :D

I will post a guide here later, if you would like to know how to set it up for yourself!

I have got to go out now and cannot leave PC on, so the cam will not function for about an hour, but it will be back later!

HOW DARE YOU GO OUT WHEN I WANT A LOOK AT YER TANK :D :D

I will be back ;)

hehe squid!

just turning cam back online now..

Edit: there is currently a very good view of my new plec sat at the back of the image

And then the cam got moved to follow the plec :p

Love the idea, and it actually seems to be working out really well. I can honestly say I'm surprised at the quality as well =)

Great looking fish!

Thankyou, I'm sure it would be better on a bigger tank.

I'm using a PS2 EyeToy which can act as a really good webcam (it's not meant to be one!)
I'll put in the guide how to transform an Eyetoy into a webcam, if you have one of those, and not a real webcam.

thanks for that, i have a few other fish i need identifying, but i'll wait until i get some good shots.

i'll start writing that guide now - should i stick it in here as a reply, or is there a more appropriate forum for it?
