Lowering Ph

Hi Spooky,

The latest readings from the tank as of yesterday after a water change, and filter maint are -

Water temp - 26.5c
pH - 7.8
Nitrate - 10
Nitrite - 0
Ammonia - 0
KH - 10.2 dKH
Alkalinity - 3.66 meg/L

PS Larissa.... Nice to see another one in the country. my wife is Larissa and I have not ever met another.

Wow, very neat! :cool: What a small world. It's not a very common name at all, but interestingly enough, there is acutally another Larisa in my class! However she spells her name with one S instead of two. I much prefer it with two S's of course. ;) But, besides her, I've never met another Larissa in my life!

Yeah its with two ss one r too. (the amount that get that wrong....) or call her marissa or clarissa.....
 
Doing water changes with distilled water will likely lower your PH, but cost a bundle. I put several large chunks of bogwood in my tank.
I have noticed that I can prevent the water from browning by placing Water Scrubber pads in the filter. They remove most of the particulates.
