I am looking to get some low spreading plants for the foreground. Was looking at Hemianthus callitrichoides “Cuba”, Eleocharis “parvula” and maybe Marsillea hirsute. Any suggestions? I have low light tank 1.4WPG. How do I actually clean the substrate ones it’s covered? Does it still need the same cleaning or plants will deal with the nitrates?

you might have a hard time fidning a nice carpeting plant with 1.4 wpg :)

but regarding the cleaning, you dont really have to clean the substrate that much !

Hi Normi, you will not need to clean under the plants, if you go for a full carpet in your tank you will never have to clean the substrate :)
