Lovley Polypterus Delhezi

Just got my Polypterus delhezi a week ago.

Colours should get better as it settles in (even though i think they are pretty fine already!)

Hope to get some other pics when he is a little larger.

I'll keep you updated and will hopefully get some photo's of the Geophagus Altifrons and the Uaru Amphiacanthoides soon.

They grow to about 14-16", its a predatory fish, eating meats, other fish etc..

Unlikley to see them exceed 14", especially in aquaria. Hope he's not actually nessie... not sure my filtration could keep up with that!

I personally feed it on peanut butter, chicken tikka, chips and small martini's.
(no really its bloodworm, krill, mussel, squid, protein tabs and dont forget the Massivore Delite)

RadaR - Thanks! Yeh he swimming around poking his nose in everything. Managed to get his face under the adonis yesterday... silly fish.

Yeh he's sitting more at the front now or in amongst the greenery.

Really starting to eat his massivore which is good because he was being really picky and scared at mealtimes and only eating if i was holding it next to him or if the other fish had calmed down, then he'd come to the top and look for scraps. Finally he's eating well... though I noticed a little gill damage today while he was eating it's not bad but I'll keep an eye on it.
