Lots Of Guppy Fry This Weekend

I do love tanks full of fry We have had 3 guppy drop yesterday & last night & about 70+ fry between them.

Now my little white balloon molly is looking like she might drop soon, its so impossible to tell with them though, so i'm going by her behavoir, she is hiding behind the filter & nipping at the male if he goes near her. Am going to leave her in there so she doesnt get stressed & pop another bunch of java moss in there for any fry to hide in.

hi,congratulations on your new brood.thats alot of fry,what do you do with them all?i dont suppose you could give me some advice?ive got some guppies in my tank and on sunday i noticed two small fry,by the time i got the net they had dissapeared(typical.today was the same.what i would like to know is how long does it take the mother to drop her fry?she still looks pregnant now or could these be the same two survivors from the birth.any help will be greatfully recieved.thank you

Congrats Karigupi. It sounds like you are well on your way to being able to supply the whole neighborhood.

Stelis, a guppy female will almost always drop all of her fry in just a few hours. Unless there is some good cover in the tank, they will also be eaten fairly quickly too.

thank you.i think they must have managed to hide.its going to take a bit of practice
as to know when the fry are coming as the chance of missing it are quite high.i will
have to keep my eye open for them.

found them!!!! they are in a bushy plant.i will never get them in my breeding net though,i will just have to see what happens.i have only seen two at the moment but hopefully there is more
