never thought that id be that sad about losing a fish, but today i had to put my betta out of his misery. i was doing a water change and he swam under the syphon and it sucked him up and he got stuck inside the valve where it connects to the syphon hose tube line thing. i panicked and didnt know what to do or how to get him out so my dad came up to help me and he blew on the end of the syphon tube and my betta shot out but when i looked at him his scales where in a terrible shredded state and his fins where ripped up and he had turned grey, he could barely swim and there where a few chunks missing on him where he had been wedged in the syphon valve, i didnt have any clove oil or whatever it is that you should use to send a fish to sleep, so the next best thing i could think of was to leave him in a bowl of freezing icy water to pass away, i hope thats not a really bad thing to have done
