Good Morning All,
Well I joined yesterday, and posted about my new tank...but I cannot remember where I posted :D ,silly old "bleep bleep" that I am !
Anyway wherever it is perhaps someone can move this post to add to my original LOL, but I am pleased to announce that the water has started clearing and is a good 80% clearer than it was yesterday, which I am extremely pleased about.

So my next question folks is, as a new starter to the hobby, when I eventually put two or three fish in the tank, any suggestions what sort I should start with please ?
My daughters partner, reckons that I should get a couple of Guppies, what do you think ?
I am not intending to put a lot of fish in, I only want about 4 or 5 maximum and that will be it.
Because if I can get this new set up working right, despite my earlier "winjing" about the initial set up procedure, see how it goes and then in the back of my mind I am thinking of getting a bigger tank in another room. But that will not happen for a couple of months, get this one sorted first.
So what about those Guppies....any good ?

Time for tea and toast now.

Peter.

So glad to meet you and your wife! Welcome to the forum. Any questions or advice you have or need, just ask. That's what we are here for! :good:

Hi there mate. Guppies are a good starting place with anyone in the fish keeping hobby, there cheap, relatively hardy fish, and breed like crazy so you will always be seeing fry knocking around the tank. Due to there constant breeding patterns, you would be best to have a ration of 1 Male to 3-4 females as the male will bother the females constantly and if there are more females, the "bother" will be shared and avoid the females being litterly stressed to death.

Check out the "Livebearer" section of the forum for more information on this. Personally I started with a couple of Baloon Mollies and there still alive and thriving, great little fish and cheap :good:
