have bought a brand new fluval 305 external filter today ! fitted as per instructions , but used the plug which i had my air pumps in , ( thought thta the outlet would agitate the water enough )
few hour later WOW clear water ( runing alongside origanal juwel filter ) but noticed fish seemed to be gasping for air and swimming close to surface this is not normal behavior ,
done water test A.P.I
SLIGHT NITRATE AND AMONNIA !!
have just done a 50% water change , fish seem hapier already not hugging the surface , lost 2 guppies one was in the trap maybe stressed ?
what could of caused this ??
