hey i have a rio 240 which is 55 uk G so round 63 us G it has tetratec ex1200 filter and the stock at the moment is

4 convicts (2 pairs)
2 jewels (1 turquoise 1 red)
1 clown pleco
1 stripped dora catfish
1 tiger loach
3 Odessa barbs

however i was thinking this stocking
1 JD
1 salvini
? tiger barbs (how many) ?
1 convict
2 jewels
1 clown pleco
1 stripped dora catfish
1 tiger loach
3 odessa barbs

what do people think and how many tiger bars could i get?

about 7 would suit your tank

i think striped dora's / Raphael catfish need to be in a group of 3 or more?and should be avoided with smaller tank mates, they may snack on them.....they are totally non aggressive but will eat small fish.lol

Should be okay I reckon but it does depend on what the cichlids have to say about it From what I have read JDs and Sals are two of cichlids that get the mose varied responses as to how they react to tank mates.

ye ive just tried to see if the dora has to be in a group but have not seen anywhere, and ye the jd n salvini will be the biggest in the tank aswell at the moment the cons and jewels get on fine and thats even with 2 breeding pairs lol does anyone know if the salvini will be colourless when there is just one? cheers

ye thats what im thinking but i just love the colour of the salvini is there any other mid sized cichlids that are colourful ? that could work ?

ah ye are they rare though in lfs? would they get on with the other cichlids is there any other bright coloured cichlids? cheers

Nics arnt that rare they should at least be on order lists, thats my female in my avatar

My Female was always that bright, I sold her tho.

They are a very cheap fish, usually go for around £3
